TICKET TO AMERICA
Performance installation and radical monitoring event for launch of WEAVE IT Bauhaus Legacies exhibition by Decorating Dissidence at Stour Space in Hackney Wick.
This acoustic curtain is inspired by the sound-proof material Bauhaus weaver Anni Albers made to cover the walls of an auditorium. She described this commission as her "ticket to America" and as a tribute to her the transmigratory sounds of processual craft here are amplified using contact mics, slinkies and craft wire.
